2-degree Ice Art exhibition (Post valentine's day celebration)

Yay to exploring exhibitions/museums together with JY! :D Adore such activities because it's very meaningful instead of the usual date routine: Meet-eat-shop-eat-movie-home. Why is Singapore so boring. Yes I know there are many significant places/activities to complete as a couple but... m.o.n.e.y. $$ is always an issue. I wanna ride the Singapore Flyer again but with JY, the price is too expensive for just 30 minutes ride. I want to try Gold class as the seats are awesome with blanket plus food being served on table, $39/pax is seriously too overpriced for us who catch movie often. I want to try high tea and camwhore with all those pretty snacks/pastries, money is an issue because JY will prefer spending $2 on Ananas Cafe - it's filling for his tummy. I want to have a mini staycation with him, bloody Singapore Hotel rooms are so expensive even for a night.

... the list simply goes on.

Anyway Brother brought his girlfriend along on the same date as us, so thanks to him, we managed to enter the Ice Bar. What exactly is the problem with their Ice Bar? I'll reveal it later. Now, for some mandatory pictures~

Double like this picture. Illusion of having a petite body

When we first enter the exhibition area. Notice as time passes, we can't stand the coldness till we had to cover our entire head LOL

Wearing a thick coat is the best. I dont have to worry about my visible tummy, armpit fats, shoulder fats & even double chin.
THE COAT BASICALLY COVERS EVERYTHING ^^

JY resembles snowman here HAHA

JY resembles the (ice) dinosaur right in the background LOL

Tourist shot: Eiffel Tower

(The person who took this... I appreciate your kindness but please. I need that tall Eiffel Tower to be visible. thanks)

 Taking a short break

I wore the wrong shoes. dang

That's me sliding down on the float. JY took this
(Luckily I went early to grab hold of the float available, JY didn't even get the chance to experience it)

& now for the Ice Bar 'story'. Basically we bought our exhibition tickets on deal.com.sg and the offer includes a complimentary drink. Sounds like a good deal right?

Please. Don't get cheated by THAT complimentary drink.

Basically, the 2-degree Ice bar is separated from the exhibition itself. You have to walk OUT of the exhibition entrance, turn to your right and enter from another door in order to reach the Ice bar. It is like a mini pub (on daylight so no disco atmosphere la) with a spacious bar in front. RIGHT beside the bar is the ACTUAL entrance to the 'authentic' Ice Bar. Theoretically speaking, an Ice Bar should be surrounded with Ice right?! Yes, your complimentary drink from that rip-off offer refers to the mini pub which is located at the entrance to the Ice Bar. You can't bring your complimentary drink into the 'authentic' Ice Bar area.

That offer is a scam. Yes it is.

& this explains why we are wearing a different coat from the exhibition ones.

Enough said, in order to get into their 'authentic' Ice Bar, you gotta order their drinks. The cheapest drink I can find cost at least SGD6. Remember seeing people enjoying their drinks @ the Ice Bar filled in an Ice Mug? That would cost SGD3 more, meaning on top of the cost of your selected drink.

The only reason why people choose Ice Mug is for the experience plus you are allowed to throw your used Ice Mug onto a wall. So if you're really having an awful day, please opt for that Ice Mug to vent your frustration.

Brother paid for our drinks, just a simple Ginger Ale & Orange Juice (served in Ice Mugs) cost ~$23 after GST + Service Charge.

MAD SHIT WE CAN USE THAT AMOUNT TO DINE @ WAN DOU SEK LOR

In conclusion,
  • The exhibition is not as huge as expected, relatively small-scale. Practically you can tour the entire exhibition within 5 minutes, depending on the crowd and the pace you are walking
  • The playground sliding area is a 'scam'. There's only 2 floats around and you have to queue for the float at the end of the slide. I wanted to get a float for my brother but end up that cheeeena family practically camp the entire slide & the kids just went up and slide down many times, leaving no chance for the rest to slide down. *clap*
  • Ticket price is slightly overpriced for Adult, SGD32. (Of course there are some promotions for certain cards, do visit their website here)
  • The 2 degree Ice Bar is extremely overpriced and not worth it UNLESS you really wanna experience for fun
For me, I will never make a trip down again even if I have different companion.
