Review: Essential Sleeping Hair Mask

Bad hair day...?

Apart from our facial appearance, our hairstyle is the next essential part that must be taken good care of. Way before I was introduced to Sleeping Hair mask, I always assumed that bad hair days were based on my luck everyday before waking up LOL. Yes it sounds extremely dumb.

Pillow damage causes YOUR bad hair day.

According to wikihow on tips to avoid damaging your hair,
  • Braid your hair loosely before bed and finish with a scrunchie to avoid it rubbing against the pillow and getting friction damage
  • Use satin pillow cases to further cut down on damage during sleep
& many more but I'm focusing on pillow friction only!

Trust me it's too tiresome to follow these 2 steps quoted from wikihow - I did rebonding few months ago and I wouldn't want to braid it!!!! Secondly, my mum takes care of my bed "affairs" so I won't shop for a satin pillow case. Enough said.

This simply sums up the definition of pillow damage.

As we sleep, tossing and turning causes hair to rub against the pillow, creating friction and this causes the hair cuticles to open up unevenly, causing hair to be rough, frizzy or prone to tangles. As a result of pillow damage, we wake up the next day with frizzy, unmanageable hair like this:

Most people resort by washing their hair early in the morning to get rid of the unmanageable hair, as washing hair 'resets' the uneven alignment of hair cuticles and makes hair smooth and manageable again. However, my beauty sleep needs to be sacrificed :'(

NO, I'd rather sleep more.

What other solutions are there for lazy people like me?
A sleeping hair mask!

Non-greasy and invisibly light, this treatment milk is perfect for night use. It intensively repairs and protects hair from 'pillow damage' while you sleep, keeping your tresses beautifully soft and healthy.
This 100 ml bottle saves your additional 1 hour of beauty sleep!

Took this picture after showering, air-dry instead of blow dry.

Close up view of my frizzy ends

My main problem would still be Frizz as I'm not born with healthy hair.

(Spot lumpy!!!)

This treatment milk serves as a leave-on sleeping mask, it absorbs instantly when applied and no traces left on your pillow!

After applying the treatment milk

There are still visible frizzy ends but I don't expect it to be a magic product. I believe constant care is required before the visible end result. However I can feel that my hair is smoother after applying and no comb is required to ensure there isn't any tangles.

Taken immediately after my alarm rang HAHA

Yes it seems like it got worse compared to the previous pictures BUT do bear in mind that if I didn't apply this sleeping mask, it would be worst than this. Sorry for the lack of pictures here but the frizziness has improved somehow. Well, no beauty sleep sacrifices are required :P

Leave-on Hair Serum

Concentrated yet non-sticky, the hair serum instantly gives hair a healthy gloss and forms a protective veil over it. For damaged hair that needs an instant boost of shine and smoothness. Yes I DID THIS HAIR SERUM BADLY. Simply apply this before you head out or as a mid-day pick-me-up!

Remember, with your hair protected overnight constantly and damage repaired, you will wake up to stronger, healthier hair than before!

Review: Bio-essence Aqua Droplet (sleeping beauty) Mask

Let's google: Benefits of using mask

Tons of results will appear immediately and there are no solid definition, because there are a variety of masks in the market as well as different mask types have different results. However, we can say that beauty face mask can be a beneficial addition to our skincare routine. Visualize it as you're a cook. You can either add pepper to your scrambled eggs (for enhanced flavour) or simply serve your dish plainly. HAHA WHAT AN EXAMPLE.

Anyway, got sponsored once again from Samplestore.com & I'm excited to add another reusable zip-lock bag to my collection ^^v

Beginning to love the Aqua colour! The packaging is pretty elegant. IMO, bio-essence targets young adults (not teenagers).. Feels kinda old but I need their Hydra Tri-Action!

What is Hydra Tri-Action series all about?

3X HYDRATION

The hydration philosophy stems from Bio-essence improved 3X Hydration system and at the same time offering total hydration: Hydrate, Nourish and Protect.

1. Hydrates

Power Nano Hyaluronic Acid
Nano-sized, provides instant hydration with superior moisture retention capability

Hyaluronic Acid
Forms large lock water network to lock in moisture

Cranberry Extract
Protects against harmful free radicals, environmental & UV damage

2. Nourishes

Cranberry Extract provides excellent conditioning of the skin for a healthy glow. With Bio Energy Fluid which further nourishes and refines skin texture

3. Protects

Rich in anti-oxidants, Cranberry Extract helps protect skin against harmful free radicals, environmental & UV damage

& what's the unique feature of this product?

Breakthrough Bio Aqua Crystals Technology. In 3 seconds, see visible Aqua Droplets form!

Upon application on skin, capsules of Bio Aqua Crystals break into Bio Aqua Droplets to rapidly penetrate into skin to keep skin constantly hydrated, while leaving a protective emollient film on the skin surface to lock in moisture.

Protective emollient film remains on skin surface to keep skin nourished & moisturized

Frankly speaking, this is the coolest product I have ever received :) Never fail to be amazed at the Aqua Droplets

Threw away the packaging box and can't remember the usage directions? Not to worry~

Absolutely satisfied with the texture of the mask because it's non-sticky and I can literally feel my skin absorbing the Aqua Droplets. It has the "matte" rich texture and the bimbo me will give this a plus point as I always love the result of matte foundation look.

I have been switching to this sleeping mask from 5/11 (Tuesday) till now 11/11 (Monday). Although this product doesn't state about healing blemishes, I noticed that my blemishes are in a better condition right now! Initially I was panicking due to the completion of my pimple gel, but with this Sleeping Beauty Mask, I'm glad that it saves me from the lack of pimple gel. If you're looking for a non-sticky mask & looking forward to smoother skin the next morning, Bio-essence Aqua Droplet Sleeping Beauty Mask is definitely the right skincare product for you.

Sample from Cetaphil

Disclaimer: I'm not sponsored by Cetaphil, this post is entirely based on my decision to blog about their sample redemption.

Frankly speaking, I nearly overlooked the fact that I signed up for the sample via Cetaphil Singapore Facebook page. It took quite a while (approx. 1-2 months) to reach my letterbox. Nevertheless, I'm still glad that it FINALLY came~

There'll be a preference section while signing up for your sample, you can choose among cleanser, moisturizer and sunblock. The very first cleanser I used was Cetaphil Gentle Facial Cleanser. Although I'm using Biore facial foam (marshmallow) now, I am intending to switch back to Cetaphil after I'm done with my current bottle.

I wanted to try Biore facial foam out of fun and the "naive" me actually thought that as long as a cleanser is meant for body and facial use, it's not effective enough for my FACE. Watsons are only selling the Gentle Skin Cleanser with "for face & body use" sticker attached, so I thought it's not the one I'm looking for... O-m-g I am seriously damn noob

A leaflet was attached to the sample! This is really informative & I even keep it together with my file! (As you know, leaflets are 95% useless...)

& the enjoyable part?
PRESSING ON THE BUBBLE WRAP!!!!!!!!

Revive my childhood memories... :P

Anyway, there's really no harm giving Cetaphil a try HERE, although it takes a while to reach you.

"Cetaphil is dedicated to effective cleansing... while being completely gentle on your skin. That's why we've developed a range of products that's right for you, regardless of your skin type. So whether your skin is easily irritated and dry, or accumulates excessive oil, you'll find a Cetaphil product that's formulated just for you.

This is why Cetaphil is the number 1 skincare brand recommended by dermatologists worldwide."

Those women out there who is having a hard time finding the right (perfect) cleanser for your skin type, THIS IS THE ONE. Seriously. Their cleanser is VERY MILD. Indeed, it's gentle as stated.

Review: Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion

"When one door closes, another door opens" - Indeed, I'm privileged to receive another sponsorship invitation by SampleStore.com team and this time round it's another Hada Labo product. I believe no introduction is required for this well-known Hydrating Lotion!

SampleStore packaging:
Front!

Back!

New packaging from SampleStore, I was thrilled to see this in my letterbox. Firstly, the packaging attracts my sight, the colour is vibrant enough. Secondly, crumpled & old envelopes (made of paper) are out-dated because it's not really reusable compared to zip-lock bags! How convenient, this bag is part of my collection right now. Am going to reuse this bag for my upcoming trip with JY!

Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion:
  • For normal & dry skin
  • Watery, moist liquid texture
  • Moistures deeply into all layers of skin
  • Contains 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid. With different sizes of hyaluronic acid molecules, it moisturizers skin from surface to deep within
  • pH balanced
  • Low irritation with no added fragrance, colours & oil
  • Use: Every morning and evening after cleansing the face, apply sufficient amount onto face and pat gently until fully absorbed
Points in BOLD are those which I think is relevant to my knowledge. First and foremost, there's a NEED to know which products are suitable for your skin type. Lucky me is born with NORMAL SKIN :) Thank God for that. From what I've heard from my Sister, any cosmetic/skincare products with a nice fragrance simply means they added some artificial ingredients like perfume and stuff. Not sure how true this is, but I know Hada Labo products have no added fragrance which is definitely a plus point for my face! End of the day, I wouldn't want to "apply" perfume on my naked face, right?

Previously I've redeemed a sample size of this Hydrating Lotion from their FB page (do remember to redeem from their page if you have not done so!), hence this is my second time trying this lotion out FOC. The size differs this time round~ Sibei auntie face plz hahaha

More information about Hada Labo:

The Hada Labo brand has reached Singapore stores in June 2010 with the introduction of the no. 1 face lotion in Japan, which I'm holding onto as seen in the picture. Its star ingredient, Super Hyaluronic Acid, can retain 12 litres of water with 1g (2X more than normal Hyaluronic Acid), giving abundant moisture for bouncy, smooth skin.

The brand has received overwhelming response from Singaporean women nationwide (Bestselling face lotion 2010-2012 and Best Newcomer Brand 2010, Watsons Singapore).

Wait... 12 LITRES OF WATER?

(I meant the packaging, not the MILK lolol)

My Hada Labo skincare regime from 21 Oct to 30 Oct (EXCLUDING OTHER SKINCARE PRODUCTS):
Nevertheless, I'm still putting this lotion to a test for a period of 10 consecutively days!
(The other 'whiter' product packaging: Hada Labo Goku-jyun Milk)

Throughout this period, I've been applying the Hydrating Lotion after cleansing, be it day or night... & here's a simple comparsion of my forehead, a "before-and-after" picture.

Before applying Lotion: 21 October 2013

After 10 days of usage: 30 October 2013

Disclaimer: I merely re-sized these 2 photos, added some text and that's it. I did not use any beauty app via phone, no photo effects as well! Solely used by Sony Digital Camera.

Ain't going to write bombastic words to describe my improved skin because that's too fake lol. It's just 10 days, a proper skin condition needs to be maintained for life. However, I can spot MINOR improvements of my skin condition. It definitely feels smoother, moist (although I have normal skin, I'm more towards dry skin because I love suntanning & I'm not a sun-block lover), a little bouncier and the last point which I'm fully satisfied with: luminous face :)

Reason: Highlighter is no longer needed on my face anymore. Naiseeee (of course pictures in this post doesn't contain any naked face)

Anyhow,
With my greedy face while trying to grab onto all the Hada Labo products I've received from the team
(Asked JY to move away but he's too busy playing his phone game...)

Headed to Marina Square for Korean BBQ with B & XQ aftermath :)

Pardon me for flaunting k, I'm forever smiling to myself when I see my skincare collection :P

If you've missed out on my previous Hada Labo review on their Perfect Gel, do remember to LIKE a.k.a. "thumbs up" Hada Labo SG page. Rest assured they won't spam your timeline because I really appreciate the team's effort to post informative issues even if there's nothing to do with Hada Labo advertising. Some of my skincare tips are obtained from their page!

FYI: This is my current favourite tip copied from their page!

Few weeks back, there was a commotion related to Hada Labo's Hydrating Lotion due to a series of experiment video online.

To be honest, I ain't "supporting" any sides even though this post is brought to you by Hada Labo. I feel that different skin react differently to different products, I've also read some negative reviews about Hada Labo online. End of the day, it's about finding the suitable product/brand that caters to your skin type.

Enough of blabbering! Good news for my readers :)
