"Tze Char" (a general term for food served by Chinese restaurants) is well-known among Chinese families when it comes to reunion meal. Yes, initially mummy told me this: "We are going to Xi Hu for dinner tonight!" I expected: "Not again, another typical hawker centre stalls serving typical chinese food"
... & my assumption was inaccurate.

So hip right, even a chinese cuisine owns a webpage. Introducing Westlake's iconic dish:
Braised Pork with Pau @ $25
A signature Hokkien style "Kong Bak Pau" is one of the local delights. Basically, the cooked pork belly is wedged in steamed buns with some lettuce
If i'm not wrong, $25 means inclusive of 10 steamed buns. This mouthwatering dish is the most appetizing among the rest. Not kidding. You should really try this. Bid goodbye to your maintained figure and leave your diet plan for the next day! I ate 2-3 Kong Bak Pau when there's 6 of us~ WHAT. IS. DIET.
Westlake fried Bee Hoon @ $8
Second favourite after Braised Pork with Pau. Their bee hoon is soft, perfect combination with lettuce, beansprouts, eggs, shrimps + "freshly" squeezed lime! Bear in mind that I am a fussy eater i.e. beansprouts and vegetables are never in my food dictionary. Yet I managed to munch all the ingredients as a whole instead of picking them out!
Chicken with Salt & Pepper @ $10
This is similar to the common Prawn Paste Chicken in other Tze Char stalls. Prawn paste chicken has always been my favourite since young so yea this is my 3rd favourite dish! A side note, the skin is too crispy to handle...
& the remaining dishes are pretty average tbh.
Fried dumpling @ $7
Live Prawn (Butter/XO Sweet Sauce) @ $27
Hot Plate Beancurd @ $10
In my opinion, their beancurd isn't enjoyable. The combination is just... weird. It's either the beancurd, sauce or the other ingredients.
Hot & Sour soup (Sze Chuan) @ $12
Overall this dinner was too filling for the 6 of us, dang. "Diet plan starts tomorrow..."
On Valentine's day eve, I am privileged to work for a company's CNY dinner held at The Ritz!
Tell me this is the perfect venue for wedding banquet.
Once again I'm working at the Ritz grand ballroom but this time round I'm not working as a banquet server but an event coordinator! Looking at my diligent banquet friends that night kept me thinking. Banquet server is one of the most tiring part-time jobs in Singapore, yet we are able to accomplish every event no matter how short-staff we experience. (Y)
With K & PL :D
Look at those lovely (helium) balloons!
