Felt extremely delighted whenever a modern Cafe is strategically located at Bukit Merah / Tiong Bahru area. A convenient location just out of town, I love it!! Thank you Dad for having a family that stays in this area.
An impromptu high tea session with E & QP few weeks back! Tried the Bakery Chef as E's friend works there! Perks of having staff discount. One should always maximize the use of staff privileges - that's my philosophy.
It is always burdensome when I was tasked to make the order. Thankfully, the staff suggested a platter for the 4 of us:
The Dessert Platter @ $18.80
includes 3 counter cakes, 1 cupcake, 2 macarons & 1 glass dessert
For our case, starting from left: Rainbow slices cake, strawberry glass dessert, 3 macarons (chocolate/vanilla/lychee), Red velvet cheesecake, praline delight, carrot-cake cupcake
& not forgetting self-service ice water + lemon! Awesome.
As I'm not a fan of macarons, I wasn't impressed with these 3. Had a hard time chewing the vanilla & lychee away. As for their chocolate macarons, it was kinda edible. I didn't like that Rainbow slices as well (i think i have high standards for cake) as the Madagascar Vanilla bean tasted pretty "weird". I can't even figure out whether I should classify this cake as Vanilla bean.
However their cakes are highly recommended! Red Velvet cheesecake & Praline Delight (similar to chocolate hazelnut cake) is the bomb. Red velvet is very moist & i'm loving the right amount of cheese for each slice. As for Praline Delight, it is highly recommended by E's friend aka the Chef :P
On the other hand, the cafe is pretty cramped (it's even smaller compared to To-gether cafe) so it is better to visit during off-peak hours.
