... and I'm officially 21 years old! :)
I bet this post is gonna be filled with tons of the word, "thanks". My utmost gratitude to ALL, I really mean it from the bottom of my heart.
This is how comfortably we look. LOL
The day before the party, G skipped her afternoon class just to check in with me, YY dashed from her house to the chalet just to fulfill her promise to me and also to accompany G for stayover. JY was fortunate enough to book out early enough (it was a miracle actually...) and reached the chalet by 6pm! 4 of us had midnight ktv session @ the 10 dollars club. Awesome or what, I really love that session. 3 of us went crazy in the room and JY sat there awkwardly, haha
& few hours before the party begins...
I've only got this picture to show the preparations done by my (organizing cum helper) team. However this picture doesn't show how much effort we have put in for the decorations part, no joke, you can ask them of how tedious the decorations were! Fortunately, I have JY as my personal assistant :D Anything that the girls can't reach, requires manual labour, something disgusting, I have a man right here.
Tada! My silhouette theme backdrop although it's not perfect :(
(I had a typo error without the 'H', so I had to replace it with an inverted 'Y')
I'm loving my gold foil balloons and the Paris skyline! If only the 'H' was there... Notice that my font is in Silhouette format too okay!
Here's my versatile table: Firstly I used it as "reception area" and transformed it to the dessert table aftermath! I created mini card-sized paper for my guests to pen down their message for me before sticking onto the guestbook. This is a better way of saving time and to make sure every single guest gets to fill up this card! They are free to write their messages anywhere, anytime instead of waiting for a person to complete before handing the book over to the rest.
My buffet area. Saw this humourous quote from tumblr & decided to use it as the "appetizing-quote-for-food" HAHA
Printed all the photos featuring those friends who came for my party. I used those black ribbons as the border, so now you know how much effort I did for the decorations! Am loving the results so every sweat was worth it.
Huge thanks to my greatest Mummy for cooking bee hoon, fried nuggets, sotong balls and seaweed chicken to add onto my buffet line! And yes it's MY birthday party, I cater according to my preferences!!! Well except for the vegetables.
I catered from the same salesperson, Jolene Tay from OrangeClove group. I'm really blessed to work with awesome caterers (more information later). Do engage Jolene Tay as your preferred salesperson if you plan to order from OC, she's willing to go the extra mile to ensure a successful event.

Cookies 'n' Cream cupcake, chocolate based to suit my Silhouette theme
What's on the cupcake stand?
I ordered 49 petite cupcakes together with 36 bite-sized fudgy brownies from @gohzhihui on instagram! Do check out her baking hastag #bakingadventureaftet12am for more drooling pictures!
Her cupcake based is very crunchy and not moist, it feels like munching on a biscuit-like cupcake. I'm loving her cookies and cream frosting, the sweetness was just right. As for her bestselling Fudgy Brownies, it was pretty all right despite the fact that I'm not a fan of brownies. All in all I didn't regret choosing petite size because it's pretty convenient to pop one instead of munching on the messy regular-sized ones!
Trust me, I've been raving about Rosette Swirls design to my team especially JY since The Cake Issue created the pretty rosette swirls SMBC cake. I wanted to order theirs but unfortunately she stopped taking orders for SMBC cakes, and I was only left with the Fondant choice. I started to source for new cake artists like shiberty's, my sister bakes, kremecouture and abitesg, I got their estimated quotation for my desired birthday cake but it wasn't really what I wanted...
I even made a trip down to Kremecouture to try their cupcakes before ordering the Red velvet flavour. I continued to source for potential cake artists on instagram (friend's girlf's friend's 21st birthday and stalking their profile to find out information about the cake without getting caught) till I found the BlackBird Bakery owned by Brenn.
Initial quotation for 2-tier rosette swirls cake for 50 pax
BlackBirdBakery: 9" bottom by 6" top for $xxx
Oh & 1 more plus plus point, she has many flavours for you to choose and I'm completely sold by her "Chocolate Banana"!
I LOVE CHOCOLATE BANANA WHOEVER INVENTED THIS COMBINATION IS A GENIUS.
In the end, I ordered 10" bottom in Chocolate Banana by 8" top in Strawberry shortcake.
Needless to explain further, my guests & I had endless compliments for her cake! My uncle (you know, older generations generally don't appreciate sweet stuff like we do) even asked about the cake because he loves her strawberry shortcake! My mummy initially wanted to try the chocolate banana, end up she asked for another serving because it was too delicious, taking the fact that she ain't a fan of cakes leh! If you wanna compare awfully chocolate's and hers, awfully chocolate is more of the dark chocolate flavour while Brenn's chocolate is more towards sweet kind. Maybe that's the reason why my mummy loves it, haha. I doubt Brenn will be reading this but Thank you so much for creating this lovely cake, it was the highlight of my dessert selection! :)
Look at how helpful my friends are!
Well, not really for B because he was preparing for the cake smash tradition. HAHAHA
Thanks YY for assisting ahhh
Okay this post is too lengthy so I shall split the remaining to the next part! Hopefully I'll remember my online speech by then lol. JY is rushing for the speech because he wants to read what I have for him, idiot.
